ROATAN SPRING DIVE TRIP
March 16th – March 23rd, 2019
The best place to stay, DIVE and Snorkel on the West End, the leeward side of the island that offers little wind or waves!
Valet Diving (the dive staff takes care of assembling, disassembling, rising, and storing your gear!) makes it easy to do boat diving and beach wall dives to over 100 feet. Friendly Resort & Dive staff, SSI Dive Shop, great food, and All-inclusive Optional.
We will be diving the southern end of Palencar Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. This is the same reef we dive in Cozumel! If you’ve dove Cozumel, the northern end of the Palencar, come see the difference on the southern end! With average daily temperature of 85 degrees and water temp of 80 – 82 degrees. Huge variety of marine life not seen on the northern end including a variety of schooling fish life, friendly large grouper, sea turtles, eagle rays, abundant coral life, and even an optional shark dive that includes seeing Caribbean reef sharks.
Non-Divers can enjoy a huge beach side pool, a great, sandy beach, and an extensive reef for snorkeling, just off the resort beach! You can stroll the long sandy beach and enjoy shopping, restaurants, and bars all along the shore! Tours are also available to Gumbalimba Park, a nature preserve that includes friendly, free roaming monkeys and exotic birds. Tours are also available to zipline through the jungle. Water-taxis are available from the beach to visit other parts of the island.

Beaver Lake waters are deep, clean and clear bringing scuba divers from not only Arkansas and Oklahoma but also Missouri, Kansas and more. Beaver Lake is optimal for scuba diving because the water is deep (300 feet in areas) and visibility is great making for interesting sites. On the North side of the lake you can often view the submerged expanse of the lake. There are sunken boats and old cars, but in some areas there are even sunken statues, placed by residents.
Read MoreLake Murray is about 1 1/2 hours from Oklahoma City. Surface conditions in the summer get into the 80?s. Diving below the Thermocline can get into the 60?s in the summer. The bottom composition is very silty. On the weekends the more popular sites get very stirred up. Although access is a bit of a goat trail down to the water, diving at the old tower is the choice of most divers.
